Dodge Charger as a Police Vehicle?
The new 4-door Dodge Charger seems to be taking over the police vehicle market. From a law enforcement students standpoint it makes sense, but what about you? Do you think the Charger has more than Ford’s Crown Vic Police Cruiser, or do you think you would like to see a Dodge Charger flashing behind you instead?
4 of our local police departments have gone to the new chargers and they are very happy with their choice. Over the years, the crown vics have slowly been deteriorating in service and durability of the cars. The Chargers also bring a new sleekness to the PD’s which in some cases is desperately needed! Thanks for all your feedback guys!

As far as buying from the lowest bidder and poor fuel economy are concerned, sorry folks but wrong on both counts. As far as company strength goes let’s take a look.
Ford Motors (F) is at $7.16
General Motors (GM) $26.93
Chrysler (DCX) $56.21
I hate the fact the vehicle we are talking about is called a CHARGER, (Monaco or Coronet would have been my preference) but you would be hard pressed to find a better vehicle suitable for police needs.
Dodge has given police agencies a multitude of reasons for going with the Charger including integrated accessory packages, and both hemi V-8 and econo 6 cylinder fleet versions.
Fleet testing has also showed that the Charger is superior in handling and braking.
Looks to me like Dodge is officially in the Police Car business, again, and ready to take the lead, again.
